Florida Syngas LLC has a patented and proprietary GlidArc™ technology
that converts glycerol into a hydrogen-rich synthesis gas. The gas can be
used to fire directly any industrial load and can be used as a source of fuel
to power microturbines to create electrical energy. Glycerol is the waste
product of the
bio-diesel refining industry. The exponential growth of bio-diesel
production contributes to a growing glycerol supply. There is already a global
glut of this compound available.
Bio-fuel production is predicted to supply 20% to 50% of all energy needs within the next 10 years. This growth translates into a continuous and growing stream of glycerol. Our process will be part of the energy independence solution as well as be carbon neutral. The United States must be on a path of energy self-sufficiency for a plethora of reasons. Pick one. Carbon neutrality is inherent in the fact that the feed stocks from the bio-diesel refiners were originally plant matter. Plants absorb CO2 while growing, so when our process releases its small amount of carbon dioxide, it is CO2 that was already there, and not new CO2 released from a petroleum product.
